Personality Type

Overview

"My concepts are based on empirical findings and are nothing but names for certain areas of experience."

C. G. Jung

Early in the twentieth century, the Swiss pioneer psychoanalyst C. G. Jung developed the model that he called "psychological type" (now often called "personality type"), based on his clinical work with his clients. Essentially, the model says:

"Sensation (i.e. sense perception) tells you that something exists; thinking tells you what it is; feeling tells you whether it is agreeable or not; and intuition tells you whence it comes and where it is going."
